Internal Affairs (IA) is responsible for investigating misconduct, policy violations, and complaints involving department personnel. The IA application evaluates an officer’s integrity, professionalism, report writing, attention to detail, and knowledge of SOPs. Selection is competitive, requiring confidentiality, impartiality, strong RP standards, ethical conduct, and sound judgment at all times.

I understand that all answers and submissions must be completed solely by me, reflecting my own knowledge, judgment, and skills. A citizen files a complaint that an officer was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional at a call regarding a minor domestic dispute. The officer claims they were trying to de-escalate a tense situation. There is no bodycam footage, and no other witnesses are present. The citizen is adamant they felt mistreated.

Two officers respond to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle. Officer B reports that the driver was aggressive and reached for a weapon, while Officer C claims the driver was calm and compliant. Both officers’ bodycams show partial events but with gaps. The driver was arrested and later released with no charges.
Officer H claims that after filing a complaint about misconduct, they have been subjected to bullying and intimidation by colleagues. They allege that some officers are spreading rumors and trying to undermine their reputation. Witnesses are reluctant to speak up for fear of retaliation.
Over several months, multiple complaints are filed against Officer I. Each complaint seems minor: occasionally rude behavior, slight procedural errors, or delayed response times. Individually, they might not warrant discipline, but together they suggest a potential pattern.
