Template Builder Layout
The builder consists of three main areas:
| Area | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Field Palette (Left) | Available field types to drag onto your form |
| Canvas (Centre) | Your form layout — drag fields here to build |
| Settings Panel (Right) | Configure the selected field's options |
Step 1: Set Template Details
Before adding fields, configure your template's basic information:
- Template Name — Internal name for your team (e.g., "Staff Application 2024")
- Display Title — What applicants see (e.g., "Join Our Staff Team")
- Description — Brief explanation shown to applicants
- Workflow — Which workflow to use for processing applications
Step 2: Add Fields
Drag fields from the left palette onto your form canvas. Fields snap into place automatically.

Pro Tip
Use help text to guide applicants on what kind of response you're looking for. This leads to better quality applications.
Step 4: Organise with Sections
Group related fields into sections to make your form easier to navigate. Drag a Section element from the palette, then drag fields into it.
Step 5: Preview & Save
Use the preview button to see how your form looks to applicants. When you're happy with the design:
- Click Save Template
- Choose whether to save as draft or publish immediately
- Confirm your selection
