AI Content Detection

Understanding risk levels, flags, and AI-generated content detection

5 min read

Guildbase uses AI-powered analysis to help identify potentially problematic applications. Learn how the detection system works and how to interpret the results.

What is AI Content Detection?

Our AI detection system automatically scans application responses to identify:

  • AI-generated content — Responses written by ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools
  • Copy-pasted templates — Generic responses used across multiple applications
  • Suspicious patterns — Inconsistencies that may indicate low-effort applications

Risk Levels

Each application receives a risk level based on the AI analysis:

Level Indicator What It Means
Low Risk Green badge No significant concerns detected. Responses appear genuine.
Medium Risk Yellow badge Some flags detected. Review responses carefully.
High Risk Red badge Multiple concerns detected. Manual review strongly recommended.

Important

AI detection is a tool to assist your review, not a replacement for human judgement. Always review flagged applications manually before making decisions.

Detection Flags

The system can identify several types of concerns:

AI-Generated Content

Responses show patterns consistent with large language models. May indicate the applicant used AI to write their answers.

Template Response

Response appears to be a generic template that could apply to any community, lacking specific details about your guild.

Suspiciously Fast

Application was completed unusually quickly for the amount of content provided, suggesting pre-written responses.

Inconsistent Tone

Writing style varies significantly between responses, which may indicate multiple sources or AI assistance.

Viewing Detection Details

Click on the risk badge in any application to view the full detection report. This includes:

  • Overall risk score and confidence level
  • Individual flags with explanations
  • Specific responses that triggered flags
  • Time-based analysis data

Enabling/Disabling AI Detection

AI detection can be toggled per guild:

  1. Go to your guild's Overview page
  2. Find the AI Content Detection toggle
  3. Click to enable or disable

Note

AI detection is enabled by default for all guilds. Disabling it will remove risk indicators from all applications.

Best Practices

Pro Tips

  • • Use AI detection as a filter to prioritise which applications need closer review
  • • Consider using the chat feature to ask follow-up questions on flagged applications
  • • Remember that false positives can occur — some genuine applicants write formally
  • • High-risk doesn't automatically mean reject — use your judgement

Scan Limits

AI detection scans are subject to monthly limits based on your plan:
